Whether you have a job or not, each of us has many opportunities to help provide relief to the people of Haiti.
Jonathan Aiken, a spokesman for the American Red Cross says community groups can easily come together to organize fundraisers like bake sales or auctions.
The money raised can be donated to organizations like the Red Cross, which will apply it to its large scale efforts that are already under way.
Aiken says monitary donations can be more easily used for relief efforts because nonprofits like the Red Cross can pool cash to buy resources at a bulk rate. Aiken also recommends people check with local reigious organizations and non profits. He says some of them are even sending emergency missionaries to Haiti.
When in doubt, Aiken says a call to your local Red Cross chapter can help give you direction, especially when many job hunters have the extra time!
