ATTENTION TELEVISION STATIONS:
Recent New York Times reports say one-third of unemployed Americans have been without a job for six months or longer.
As those Americans deal the grim outlook, TV journalist Paul Matadeen is putting his extra time to good use. Matadeen founded ItsTheJOBBLOG.com in the Summer of 2009 when he experienced a layoff from the news business himself.
The website publishes regular interviews (podcasts) with employment experts tackling topics like investing, fitness, and even featuring web tools to make the job hunt easier. Many of the guests to the site have been featured on national media outlets like CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC. Others are contributors to popular career websites like The Ladders.com.
Beginning in June 2010, Matadeen will use his decade long TV reporting and producing skills to begin producing broadcast packages giving viewers tips about how to cope ‘when work is slow.’
Matadeen has already produced two packages giving viewers step by step instructions about how to create a more relevant ‘Resume Billboard,’ so that employers take notice, and giving tips about how to be proactive in a competitive job market.
The pieces so far have offered inspiring stories of ‘regular people’ who have been successful in their job hunt due to experts’ advice. In their Job Hunt, it’s time for YOUR VIEWERS to get to the ‘Front of the Line!’
(Packages will be distributed by FTP starting May 2010. Contact Paul Matadeen at (573) 673-7226 to get them.)
